GOD'S
THANK YOU
MEMORISE:
'Wisdom and Knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give
thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings
have had that have been before thee, Neither shall there any
after thee have the like.' (1 Chron 1:12)
READ:
Genesis 22: 15-18
When
you do a favor for someone, that person will normally show his
or her appreciation in some way. The least they will do is to
say 'thank you'. When you satisfy God and make him happy, he
will also tell you 'thank you.' However, his 'thank you' is
often so overwhelming that it can be frightening!
One
day, according to Luke 5, Jesus borrowed Peter's boat for a
few hours to preach. This was the same Peter who had spent the
whole night fishing on the lake without catching anything. Fortunately,
he had enough sense to do business with God. When Jesus thanked
him for using the boat, Peter threw out his nets and caught
so much fish that his boat, as well as some other boats which
he called in to help, nearly couldn't handle the load.
In
2 Chronicles 1:6-12, Solomon gave an offering that touched God's
heart. When God told Solomon that he could have anything he
desired, Solomon made a request born out of selflessness and
a desire to glorify God. This pleased God, and he decided to
thank Solomon for it. God said: 'Wisdom and Knowledge is granted
unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour,
such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee,
neither shall there any after thee have the like' (2 Chron 1:12).
In
our passage, God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son. Abraham
obeyed and passed the test with flying colors. God was pleased
and thanked Abraham by promising to bless him and to make his
seed 'as the dust of the earth' (Gen 13:16). Are you afraid
to do business with God? Do you think your sacrifice in his
Name will yield nothing? Do you think you will go UN- rewarded
for suffering shame, lack, and pain for his Name's sake? No!
God will surely say 'think you.' He is a faithful rewarded of
those who please him. Go ahead and serve Him.
ACTION POINT
Give God what he asks, and see how he blesses you.
Ask him to also bless you with peace in your country.
