Isa 16 - 18
WHO'S THE LIAR?
MEMORISE:
'And as it is appointed unto men once to die, But after this
the judgment.' (Heb 9:27)
READ: Hebrews 9:27-28
There are all kinds of theories today about
what happens after death. Some theories say you go and sleep
in the grave, awaiting the day of resurrection. Some say the
human spirit returns and blends into God's light and is absorbed
by him. Others say that if you were not righteous enough, you
will go to a place called purgatory. There your sins will be
purged as the believers on earth continue to intercede for you.
Only then will you be accepted into Heaven.
There are yet other theories. Some people believe
you return to this earth to live the number of times God had
written on the palm of your hand. Some say depending g on what
you did on earth, you could either return as a plant or an animal.
Have you asked yourself why so many theories about the afterlife
exist? What does the Bible teach about the afterlife? Hebrews
9:27 says. 'And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but
after this the judgment.' God says he has an appointment with
every inhabitant of Planet Earth. That appointment is death,
which will be followed by judgment.
So who is telling the truth about the afterlife?
Whom do we believe? God, of course! He cannot lie. He is our
creator. He has earned the right to speak about what will happen
in the afterlife. All other theories are false, and are promoted
by Satan to deceive man. He wants to make people live recklessly
by telling them nothing serious follows after death. But once
they die, they come face with the truth- judgment. This is how
Satan lures people into hell. The documented account of the
rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31 is a real- life incident.
Are you prepared for the afterlife?
