HIS
PRIEST
MEMORISE:
‘And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to use the ministry
of reconciliation. (2 Cor 5:18)
READ:
Revelation 1: 4-6
God
has created us to be kings and queens, but more importantly
h has created us as priests of the Most High God. God’s
purpose for us is to be priests. This does not mean that you
are missing your calling if you do not become a pastor. There
is a difference between being a pastor and bring a priest. Being
a priest is not confined to one office in the church. Cleaners,
sanitation officers and ministers can, and should, all he priests.
What
are the duties of a priest?
‘But
ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of
him how hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light’
(1 Pet 2:9).
This
verse says our first duty is to praise and worship the One how
has called us into his light. We should worship him with our
whole being, in spirit and in truth. Another duty is to convert
men to God in order to increase the number of people who worship
him. Each him you convert a soul, you add another worshiper
(John 15:16). As a priest, God also expects you to bear witness
of what you have seen, heard and experienced in Christ, according
to Acts 1:8. Have you been saved? Then proclaim God as Saviour
to others. Have you been healed? Tell others of his healing
power. Be a witness today.
Our
fourth duty as priests is to rescue those how perish by doing
the works that Jesus did – and even greater works than
that (John 14:12). ‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and
healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with
him’ (Acts 10:38).
As
a priest of God, you should move in the supernatural, be filled
and used by the Holy Ghost to deliver, heal and bless people.
Accept your calling as God’s priest today.
ACTION
POINT
Go out as God’s priest today and win a soul for Jesus.
Ask God to let the world experience the reality of Christ’s
coming.
