TRAINING THE MIND

MEMORISE: 'Let this mind be in you, This was also in Christ Jesus…' (Phil 2:5)
READ: Matthew 7:24-25

Jesus Christ came to redeem man by dying on the Cross. ' "Even as the son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many" ' (Matt 20:28). John 15:13 says: 'Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.' Each time he reminded himself of this, his body protested while his soul kept quiet. Later, as his appointment with the Cross drew nearer, Jesus informed his disciples. Then, suddenly, his soul entered into battle.

'Then saith he unto them, "My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me" ' (Matt 26:38). His soul became very sorrowful and heavy. His soul must have advised Jesus to discuss the issue with the Father after all, with God all things are possible. So Jesus prayed thrice on the matter but the father did not answer, because our Lord had come to die to save all of us. Imagine- the soul of our Lord Jesus Christ could have turned the tide against the whole of the human race! Thank God his spirit yielded to God, compelling his soul to do the same.

'Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…' (Phil 2:5). To make it to heaven, your mind must become like Jesus after the trial. How? Systematically memorise the word. When your soul is saturated with God's word, it becomes difficult to find space for sinful thoughts or actions (Ps 119:11). I began with a Sunday school memory verse, one per week. You too can start from there. Secondly, meditate on the word of God instead of the economic indices. If you ponder on God's word according to Psalm 1:1-3, you will have peace in the face of any problem.

Apart from this, you should make an effort to practice the word. This is what makes you a wise man (Matt 7:24-25). According to 2Corinthians 10:3-5, God expects you to pull down strongholds of weaknesses and take captive all evil thoughts. When you do these, it will be easy for your soul to agree with your spirit and live victoriously.

ACTION POINT
Learn ten memory verses related to one area (For example, healing) by heart. Ask God to give you the mind of Christ.
