Ezek 19 - 21
SELF-SUFFICIENT?
MEMORISE:
' I have planted, Apollo's watered; but God gave the increase.'
(1 Cor 3:6)
READ:
Exodus
4:10-16
God called Moses to go and deliver the children
of Israel from bondage in Egypt. Moses had a speech defect:
he stammered, so he tried to use that as an excuse for not going
until God eventually gave him Aaron, his brother, to support
him, that defect in your life could just be why God chose to
use you instead of somebody else, so that his strength can be
made perfect in your weakness.
Another lesson we learn here is that no matter
how anointed or richly endowed you may be, you need someone
to support you. No one is self - sufficient. No one is an island.
It is not good for man to be alone (Gen 2:18), hence God had
to make him a helpmate in the person of the woman. In luke10:1,
Jesus sent out his disciples in twos. You need other people.
Moses was a mighty man of God. It is on record
that he had a great and personal encounter with God, as no one
else. Yet he could not fight and defeat the Amalekites alone.
He did the continuous intercession. Aaron and Hur had to hold
his hands up to prevent him from becoming weary, while Joshua
did the actual fighting, until God gave the victory.
Only God is self - sufficient. Even when Jesus
was here on earth, he could not go it alone. He needed and depended
so much on the Holy Spirit. He also needed his twelve disciples,
to send to the places he wanted to go but was not always able
to. God has a purpose for your life in his kingdom. Care has
to be taken, however, in selecting a partner. Proverbs 22:24-25
says not to be partner to an angry man. Proverbs 113:20 warn
not to be a partner of a fool.
Anyone who is given to violent tempers or evil
can negatively impact your life. Let the Lord choose for you.
Lastly, choose Jesus and the Holy Spirit as your Senior partners
and communicate regularly with them. You will make it.
