Perfectly Protected
Text: Psalms 125:1-5
The
concept of bodyguards has become the latest fad. Celebrities,
music stars, international footballers, government officials and
even religious leaders have in their employ highly paid bodyguards
in order to keep intruders, miscreants and unwanted visitors away.
However, the major purposes of hiring well-trained bodyguards
are to ensure the security and protection of the one who is guarded.
Nevertheless, bodyguards try their best but God actually protects.
When we talk about a keeper, we are talking about a protector,
like a bodyguard.
There
are many kinds of bodyguards but the only One who can keep and
protect is the Almighty God. In Psalm 125:2-3, the Bible says,
“As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD
is round about his people, from henceforth even forever. For the
rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous;
lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.”
The Almighty God surround us like a mountain. In Zechariah 2:5,
we are told that if God is our bodyguard, He surrounds us with
a wall of fire. There are keepers who can keep you from human
beings and animals. When it comes to attacks from witches and
wizards, you need a keeper that is not an ordinary human being
because these are invisible enemies. With the wall of fire around
you, if any body wants to attack you, that fellow will have to
pass through the fire first. The fire surrounding you is the consuming
fire.
In
Isaiah 54:17, God says no weapon that is formed against us shall
prosper. It does not matter what the enemy wants to attack with.
God will neutralize it. He will then shut the gates of your house
so firmly that nobody can open it. Revelation 3:7 says, “And
to the angel of the Church in Philadelphia write; these things
saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of
David, he that openeth and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and
no man openeth.” When God shuts your gate, no devil can
open it. The Almighty God never grows old so He remains forever
strong to be effective as your Bodyguard. Isaiah 26:4 says, “Trust
ye in the LORD for ever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting
strength;” God does not grow old, so, He does not grow weak.
Again in Psalm 102:25-27, the Bible has this to say: “Of
old has thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens
are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure:
yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment: as a venture shalt
thou change them and the shall be changed: But thou art the same,
and thy years shall have no end.” He does not change with
years. This is confirmed in Hebrew 13:8: “Jesus Christ the
same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Once God is your
protector you have nothing to fear. No power can harm you as long
as God is your refuge.

whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
