Begone Unbelief
Text: Proverbs 3:21-26
Today,
let me begin by sharing with you a quote laden with much depth
of wisdom: “Saying, if thou hast know, even thou, at least
in this, thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! But
now they are hid from thine eyes” (Luke 19:42). It is crystal
clear that many people are miles away from their haven of peace.
Those who are searching for peace and security are at the same
time busy doing things that compound their problem. Truth is bitter,
but it must be told. What you need to do to remain saved forever
is to fear God. If there is no rift between you and God, no matter
the dangers around you, you are safe.
One
thing any child of God should never do, after putting his or her
trust in God, is to worry. Put your trust in the One who never
sleeps nor slumbers and He will take care of you. The fear of
the Lord is beginning of wisdom. Whenever you are tempted to sin,
remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
The moment you keep wisdom, and you do not offend God, and you
keep remembering that He is watching you can lay down and no danger
will ever come near you. If you have the fear of God, you will
never suffer from insomnia.
The
Bible says, in Ecclesiastes 5:12, that “The sleep of a labouring
man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance
of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.”. Prosperity is
good but it has its problems if not handled properly. Thank God
for prosperity but prosperity can take your sleep away if it is
not handed over to God. You have to surrender your all to God.
Psalm 127:1-2 says: “Except the LORD build the house, they
labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the
watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early,
to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for he giveth his
beloved sleep.” If you are a beloved of Jesus Christ, He
will not sleep but protect you while you are sleeping. You are
the one that needs sleep. Let the fear of God dominate your life
and problems like fear, anxiety, worry, hypertension and stroke
will vanish.
Memory Verse: Proverbs 9:10 - “The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
