The Angelic Assignment
Text: I Peter 1:12-22
I
have discovered that Christian know not must on the subjects of
the ministry of angels and the benefits of sonship. The Bible
says in Psalm 34:7-8, “The angels of the LORD encampeth
round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and
see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in
him.” The angels of the Lord have been given instructions
to mount a guard round about you, 24 hours a day, all the days
of your life. This is because you are the bride of Jesus Christ,
the King of kings. Once in a while, when the angles cannot handle
the situation, the Lord will come to your rescue Himself. One
of such examples is found in Daniel 3:24-25. The Lord Himself
came waiting for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace.
In Isaiah 59:1-2, the Bible says: “Behold, the LORD’s
hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy,
that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between
you and your God, and you sins have hid his face from you, that
he will not hear.” God cannot take care of you against any
enemy whatsoever, provided you do not sin. As long as God’s
hedge remains round you, no harm will touch you. The moment you
do something contrary to the will of God, and you step out of
that protective hedge, the serpent will strike you. God wants
holiness to be written all over you. If you are holy, you will
not be ill (Exod. 15:26). If you are holy, you will be secured
because the Lord’s hand is not shortened so that He cannot
save. If you are holy, you will prosper because He wishes above
all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul
prospers. If you want the power of God, you have to be holy, because,
Heb. 1:9 says, “Thou hast loved righteousness, therefore
God has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thine fellows.”
If you want to live in absolute security, you have to be holy,
so that when enemies come against you in one way, they will flee
before you in seven ways. At the end of your race, if you are
holy, you will receive God.
