Ps 112 - 114
Topic:
God’s Purpose
Text: Luke 1:1-27
Our text presents the story of
two wonderful people: Zechariah and Elizabeth. The Bible tells
us that they were blameless before God. They were serving the
Lord with all their hearts yet they were barren. Many people must
have laughed at them. People around them must have thought that
they were singled out for barrenness, whereas God singled them
out for something special. God wanted them to bring forth the
greatest child born in the Old Testament: John the Baptist. Jesus
said that of all born by women in the Old Testament; none was
a great as John the Baptist. I want you to look away from your
present situation.
People may label you negatively,
don’t worry. The outcome is in the able hands of God. What
is viewed by the people of the world as a minus will soon become
an instrument of divine promotion in your life. Although there
seems to be a delay today, God is surely using it to prepare you
for something great. Although Elizabeth was previously seen as
a barren woman, by the time God granted her a miracle, she became
the esteemed mother of the greatest prophet in the Old Testament
dispensation. Delay is not denial. By the time God is through
with you the attention of everyone will be shifted to you. At
the end of the day your testimony will be unique and challenging.
Memory Verse: II Corinthians 10:2
- “But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present
with that confidence, wherewith I think to be against some, which
think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.” |
