Ps 28 - 30
Topic:
Enemies of God
Text: Philippians 4:4-9
Manipulation
is Satan’s stock-in-trade. He would try to turn you into
an enemy of God by instigating you to accuse God wrongfully. It
is wrong to ever open your mouth and accuse Him of being the cause
of your troubles in life. When things are not going well, if only
you can think of God you will escape the dangerous mistake of
accusing God as the cause of your trouble. James 1:13 says: “Let
no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot
be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.” When
problems come, if you do not thank Him, you will accuse Him. There
is nothing more painful than false accusation.
When
people accuse God, He cannot come down to defend Himself. Even
when He speaks you may not hear, God will fold His arms and close
His ears against you. There is only one friend you can count on,
particularly at the time of trouble. His name is Jesus Christ.
If He is the only One you can count on, and He is always ready
to help you, how come you accuse Him of causing your troubles?
What will be the result of such wrong accusation? Look at Psalms
46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help
in trouble.” Psalms 121:1-2 - “I will lift up mine
eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help? My help cometh
from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
If
you praise God when you are in trouble, He will be compelled to
help you. Psalms 58:1 says: “Do ye indeed speak righteousness,
O congregation? Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?”
If only you could praise Him to the stage where He will arise
to help you, His enemies, who are your enemies, will scatter.
Jesus accused Saul of Tarsus of persecuting Him. Saul not see
Jesus or drive Him to prison to prison, but he was persecuting
the children of Jesus Christ. If any problem comes your way, and
you are a child of God, those who fight against you are fighting
against your God. If you now join those people and begin to fight
against God, you will put God in an embossing situation. If you
praise God, He will be the One to come to your rescue.
Memory Verse: James 1:13 - “Let no man say when he is tempted,
I am tempted of God for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither
tempted he any man:”
