Topic:
The Hedge
Text: Zechariah 2:1-5
We
must constantly pray for the Holy Spirit to continue to teach
and enlighten us spiritually concerning the mystery of divine
protection. There is an invisible hedge of protection around every
child of God. You don’t have to be a man of God to enjoy
divine protection. For example, when a house is protected, even
the youngest baby is secure. God has built an impenetrable wall
of protection around every member of the household of faith. This
protection is our bonafide right. In Zechariah 2:4-5, the Bible
says: “And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man,
saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for
the multitude of men and cattle therein: For I saith the LORD,
will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be glory
in the midst of her.” The Lord says He will prosper Jerusalem
and, unlike other cities of the olden days, there would be no
wall built round it for protection. What would surround the city
if the fire of God were round it? It was this type of hedge built
round Job that made Satan to ask for permission before he could
attack him (Job 1:8-10). There is a hedge round about us too if
we fear the Lord and live the life of holiness. You may not see
this wall of fire but it is there. The devil confessed that he
tried to get Job but he could not because God had made a hedge
round about him. In Isaiah 41:10-16, the Almighty say a lot of
things: That, He can help us to stand, and that those who try
to move us from where He has placed us would be shamed and confounded
and we would seek them and not find them. He says He would hold
us by His right hand and help us. The only thing that God asks
from us to establish us forever is recorded in Isaiah 1:19: “”if
ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land”.
Also, if you are willing and obedient, you will get to Heaven.
Whatever the enemy may be doing to get you off track will surely
fail because God will help you. Do not be afraid.
Memory Verse: Isaiah 1:19 - “If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land."
