Topic:
The glory
Text: I Corinthians 15:49-58
Once
in a while we must spend time to meditate on our spiritual fortunes.
No mortal pen can describe the glory that lies ahead of us. In
fact, the Bible says: “But as it is written, Eye hath not
seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of men
the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
(I Corinthians 2:9) John the beloved Apostle was given a wonderful
revelation. He saw the second coming of Jesus Christ and even
saw beyond that. He saw us riding on white horses, following our
King. Our Captain went to God the Father and was given dominion,
glory, kingdom and power, and it was decreed that all nations
and tongues should serve and obey Him. We will be there as His
lieutenants. There will be governors among us and a few of us
will be there as senators to stay with Him in Jerusalem, to supervise
the nations. The kingdom that is coming is a spiritual Kingdom.
So it is only people with spiritual interests and motives that
can inherit it, not those ruled by the flesh. “Now this
I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom
of God, neither doth corruption inherits incorruption.”
(I Corinthians 15:50). Our present body cannot be partakers in
the kingdom that is coming. This is because the glory will be
too much for our body. This is why the Bible says those of us
who remain alive till the second coming of Jesus Christ must be
changed. We must be transformed by a supernatural method that
will drain every blood in our bodies. God must transform the flesh
before we can stand the glory that is coming. Wonderful glory
indeed! This is why those who are really seeking this Kingdom
do not bother so much about the flesh because they know that the
flesh will pass away. If you still find your flesh waging war
against you, and you are yielding to it in anger and the things
of the flesh, you are not qualified for the kingdom. And if you
are not qualified, you will miss the glory ahead.
Memory Verse: Matthew 5:3 - “Blessed are the poor in spirit
for third id the kingdom of heaven.”
