Topic: Examine Yourself
Text: Acts 19:11-20

Every child of God is expected to experience victory every time. If there is anything less than total victory in your life, you may need to examine yourself. According to Exodus 15:3, the Almighty God which we are serving is a God of War. Psalm 24:10 also tell us that the King of glory is the Lord who is strong in battle and the Lord of hosts. The Lord we are serving is not a civilian but a soldier. II timothy 2:4 tells us that one of us that is born again has been recruited into the army of the Lord. There is only one language that the devil understands, and this is the language of violence. If you beg the devil he will not leave you alone.

We are commanded by our Commander-in-Chief to resist the devil. If you allow your enemies to escape, it is your fault. Arrest your enemies and deal with them. Although it is good to deal with enemies, never constitute yourself into an enemy of God. If God begins to fight you, no one will be able to rescue you. You are in serious problem when God fights you. How do you know when God has a controversy with you?

First, when you resist the devil and the he refuses, to move, it may be a sign that it is not the devil that you are fighting.

Second, when you command mountains to move and instead of moving they get bigger, it may be that God is fighting you. According to Mark 11:23, if we have faith and we believe, we will move mountains.

Third, when you ask ways to open but, instead of opening, they get blocked, it implies that something is wrong somewhere.

Fourth, when you ask demons to bow at the name of Jesus Christ but, instead of bowing, they invite more of them to come, something is terribly wrong with you (Number 22:21-23). I f you discover that God is blocking your way; there are certain things that you have to do. You humble yourself. James 4:6 says. “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” Proud people cannot pray.

I challenge you to examine yourself today. Let the Holy Spirit convict you of any act of wrongdoing. Repent and surrender every area of your life to God.

Memory Verse: Job 22:28 - “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
