Topic:Achieving Excellence
Text: I Corinthians 16:9-15

Excellence is achievable. However, you have to work towards its achievement. Achievers of excellence always go the extra mile. They put in a lot of hard work before they attain the level of excellence. You must make excellence your goal. Avoid being haphazard in anything you do. Do you want to achieve excellence in life and ministry? You must take the following steps:

Work hard. God appreciates hard work. He actually expects you to work hard. God has no interest in lazy people. Haggai 2:4 says: “Ye now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong all ye people of the land, saith that LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts.” Be strong and work hard.

Work abundantly. The more work you do for God the more blessing you will receive from Him. I Corinthians 15:58 says: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in the Lord.” Always abound in the work of the Lord. You are to work assiduously.

Work addictedly. You are to become addicted to the work of the Lord. I Corinthians 16:15: “I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints).” The Bible says that we are to submit to people who get addicted to the work of the Lord. If you too can be addicted to the work of the Lord, you will become the Almighty’s favourite.

Memory Verse: John 5:17 - “But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”
