Topic:
Like A Mighty Wind
Text: Ezekiel 37:1-10
The
Spirit of God has been likened to the wind. The wind needs an
outlet to blow on man, animals and plants. When there is a free
flow of air, there is refreshing. People normally complain of
discomfort, choking and loss of balance in an airless environment.
To
maximally benefit from the blessings of open heavens, let is focus
on another important benefit. The second function of a window
is to allow air to blow through. We human being need air to live
but the Almighty God is self-existent. He can never die. He does
not rely on anything to live. Therefore, when the windows of Heaven
open, it is not for air to blow in but for air to blow out. The
air of God shall blow on you. The Bible tells us, in John 2:21-22,
that when the disciples were gathered in a house with the doors
and the windows locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came in through
the walls. He greeted and breathed on them and gave them part
of the divine power within Him. When God breathes on you, part
of His power will come into you. The breathe of God will usher
God’s power into your life.
In our text, the Spirit took the man of God to a valley full of
dry bones. Ezekiel said it was only God that knew if those bones
could come alive again. He was told to prophesy to the bones to
come together and he did and the bones came together. When the
bones came together and the flesh covered them, they were still
dead and the Lord told him to prophesy for the wind to blow on
them. As soon as the wind blew on them, life came into them and
they jumped to their feet. When the windows of Heaven open, the
wind of God will blow. Today, you must pray, asking the Lord to
cause His wind to blow on you. You need a refreshing air from
the presence of the Lord. Pray until you are saturated by God’s
mighty wind.
Memory Verse: John 9:5 - “As
long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
