Mark 7 - 10
Topic:
Arise And Shine
Text: John 9:1-7
For
some time now, we have been examining the spiritual implication
of a window. What else can we learn concerning the usefulness
of a window? The third function of the window is for light to
shine through. There is no darkness in Heaven. Over there, they
do not even need the sun or the moon because the Lamb of God is
the lamp thereof. Heaven is full of light. What then is the need
for the windows of Heaven? It is for light to shine from Heaven
to us here on earth. Some of us are still battling with a little
bit of darkness here and there. Darkness in the form of curses,
covenants made with the devil, even before we were born, and agreements
we reached ourselves.
The
Bible says, in Isaiah 9:2, however: “The people that walked
in darkness have seen a great light, they that dwell in the land
of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”
The window of Heaven will open for light to drive away the darkness
in our lives. We need the windows to open so that light can shine
on us as we have in Isaiah 60:1-5, “Arise, shine; for the
light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For,
behold, the darkness shall coven the earth, and gross darkness
the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory
shall be seen upon thee. And the gentiles shall come to thy light
and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes
round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they
come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters
shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shall see, and flow together,
and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance
of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles
shall come unto thee.”
When
the light of God shines on you, it is time to arise. It is time
to shine because the glory of God has come upon you. To arise
and shine means to begin to be relevant. When the light of God
shines on you, you will suddenly begin to fulfill your destiny.
The purpose of God for your life will suddenly become fulfilled.
The impossible will become possible, poverty will give way to
prosperity, trials will turn to triumph, curses will become blessings,
mountains will disappear and the glory of God will be risen upon
you.
Memory Verse: Psalms - “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless
his name.”
