Holiness Or Hell
Text: Hebrews 7:25-28
Everyone
on earth has only two options: heaven or hell. You can afford
to sit on the fence when it comes to matters that are ephemeral
or trivial in nature. But for matters of great eternal consequences,
there is no neutral position.
Satan
has continued to deceive men and women into believing that it
is possible to gamble with eternity. Satan often twists Acts 16:31:
“And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou
shalt be saved, and thy house.” Satan’s interpretation
of the passage is that you can continue committing sin and that,
as long as you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall be
saved.
Many
people have been deceived into believing this fallacy and have
been led into hell. James 2:19 says: “Thou believest that
there is one God; thou doest well the devils also believe, and
tremble.” Even demons believe in Jesus Christ, yet they
are not saved. To receive Salvation, you must repent. The Bible
says: The Bible says: “I tee you, Nay: but, except ye repent,
ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). Repentance means,
first and foremost, to be sorry for one’s sins, then followed
with the determination not to sin again.
It
is also the belief of Satan that, once you are saved, you are
saved forever. Again, this satanic error is anchored on Hebrew
7:25 which says, “Wherefore he is able also to save them
to the uttermost that comes unto God by him seeing he ever liveth
to make intercession for them.” Satan sees this as meaning
that once you profess your belief in Jesus Christ that is all
there is to it. That is, you can continue to sin. He would try
to convince you that the difference between the person committing
sin and not saved and the person committing sin but is saved is
that the former will go to hell while the latter will make heaven.
This
is another error from the camp of the devil. If you believe this
error you might discover, too late, that the devil is a deceitful
preacher. Watch and pray.
Memory Verse: James 2:19 - “Thou believest that there is
one God, thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble.”
