REWARDS FOR VICTORS

MEMORISE: 'To him that overcometh will I grant To sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and Am set down with my Father in his throne.' (Rev 3:21)
READ: Galatians 6:7-10

Before David agreed to confront Goliath, he asked what would be given the person who overcame Israel's worst adversary. He was told the king would give him riches, his daughter in marriage and his family would be exempted from tax thereafter (1 Sam 17:25-27). These rewards spurred him into action. Similarly, God has not called you to fight battles for nothing. Each battle you fight and win attracts some reward. There are several rewards awaiting the overcomers. According to Revelation 2:7, they will eat of the tree of life which Adam and Eve lost in disobedience. Similarly, they will not be thrown into hell (Rev 2:11) where all who forget God will end up.

Revelation 2:17 says the over comer will eat of the heavenly manna and be given a new name written on a white stone, known only to the recipient. Besides this, the overcomers will reign with Jesus Christ. Some will be governors, commissioners, presidents, council chairmen in the millennial reign of Christ. This is a single term reign of 1000 years, not by election but by divine decree. Thank God I will reign with Christ. What about you?

Revelation 3:12 promises overcomers special clothing in white, and the fact that Jesus will personally introduce them to his Father. Also they will be Pillars in God's house, meaning that they will bear titles of leadership under Jesus Christ (Rev 3:12). Some will even sit on the same throne with Jesus and be married to him (Rev 3:21, 19:5-9).

What a wonderful thin g to be an over comer! Beloved, you are not serving God in vain. The suffering for righteousness is not in vain. Your labours are not for nothing. The rewards are worth labouring for. Become an overcome an overcome today and stay so. Do not be distracted. If you are yet to be born again, give your life to Christ now. The best things in this world cannot be compared with what awaits over comers eternally. All the money of this world cannot buy fruit from the tree of life!
