Prov 4 - 7
POSSESSING
BY VIOLENCE
MEMORISE:
‘But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and
overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted,
and divideth his spoils.’ (Luke 11:22)
READ: Philippians 4:11-19
No
good thing comes easy. In fact if something comes too cheap
and easy, you may have cause to suspect it and make sure it’s
really from God.
Jesus
calls the devil a strong man who will ensure that all he has
stolen is kept intact (Luke 11:21). In fact, verse 17 of our
reading says: ‘… that opened not the house of his
prisoners?’ This means that Satan’s plan is to lose
none of his captives. He does not want you to go free from whatever
trap he has caught you in. anyone he has afflicted with sorrow,
sickness or poverty must maintain the status quo. Any one he
has tied down to sin must continue sinning. That is, to
break free from him, you must exert force, because he won’t
let you go easily.
Over
a long period, God sent Moses to King Pharaoh to let His people
go. But he refused. Even today, the Pharaoh responsible for
poverty, financially difficulty, barrenness and retrogression
is not ready to let you go – except, of course, by force.
‘And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force’
(Matt 11:12).
Those
who desire to receive good things from the Lord must be spiritually
violent. They must never accept ‘No’ for an answer.
They must be dissatisfied with situations in their lives and
be ready to take the battle to the gates of the enemy, so as
to effect a change.
Stop
sitting down and looking without doing something. Arise! Take
up your spiritual armour and resist the devil. Bind him and
loose his grip over your finances and family. Begin to call
forth your blessings to come to you in the Name of Jesus.
Claim
all your blessings from wherever the enemy has hidden them.
Do not rest on your oars until you have all that is yours. As
Satan persists in keeping you from your blessings, resist and
receive your blessings – and persist in retaining them,
too.
ACTION
POINT
Every promise of God you fail to fight for, may be lost.
Arise, fight and possess what is rightfully yours.
