Chron 23 - 25
TWO-PRONGED DELIVERANCE
MEMORISE:
‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD
deliveth
him out of them all.’ (Ps 34: 19).
READ:
1 Samuel 17: 37, 45-46
Deliverance has two sides. You
can be delivered from the hands of your enemies. Enemies can also
be delivered into your hands. May the Lord make your deliverance
complete in Jesus’ Name.
David, according to our reading,
while confronting Goliath, said that God would deliver him from
the hands of his opponent, but later added that God would deliver
Goliath into his hands. God may deliver you from your enemy by
breaking the chains, like Paul and Silas. He may have to render
a fire ineffectual, as he did with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
He may have to deliver you from that yoke of sickness before he
places your enemies under your feet.
In 2 Chronicles 20:20-25, God
first delivered Johoshphat out of the hands of three strong kings.
Thereafter, he delivered their wealth into his hands. Also in
2 Kings 4:1-7, God delivering lasting prosperity into her hands.
You have been asking God for a
car, decent accommodation, the right spouse, the fruit of the
womb, a business breakthrough or prosperity. But you are still
harbouring the old man- certain Canaanites are still in your life.
Pride is still working in your heart. Greed is still very much
present. Unforgiveness and wickedness are still present in your
heart. Immoral and lascivious thoughts remain in your mind.
If God harkens to you and delivers
the blessing into your hands, these enemies of holiness will soon
negate it. Hence God wants to deliver you first from the enemy
so that when he delivers the blessings into your hands, you will
enjoy them throughout your life. Are you ready to cooperate with
him and destroy all the Canaanites in your life now? Call on him
to help you.
