THE WISE QUEEN

MEMORISE: 'Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.' (Prov 22:6)

Proverbs 4:7-9 says wisdom is the Principal thing, and with it comes understanding and honour. Esther was picked to be queen place of Vashti. One day she put her life on the line by approaching the king without his sending for her. God gave her favour before the king. Thereafter she invited him and Haman, the greaest threat to the Jews, to a banquet.

Esther was the embodiment of wisdom, which was a product of a good up bringing. If you give your children proper training, they will bring you joy in later years. If you have not done this, take immediate steps to do so now. Also, as a spiritual father, it is your duty to know what is lacking in your congregation and ensure that the gap is filled. Leaders have a responsibility to provide their followers with a solid spiritual upbringing. They should be taught simple etiquette: how to respect and honour others.

Esther was well trained. Little did her uncle Mordecai know that while he was raising her, he was endowing her with the traits to be a queen. You cannot tell what your children will be in future. What you give them today may be all they have to become what they ought to be. Take pains to train up your children in the way of the Lord and when they are old, they will not depart from it (Prov22:6).

Apart from upbringing, Esther knew the way to her husband's heart. He loved banquets, so she prepared one for him. Wives should learn from this and feed their husbands well. Give your husband what he enjoys, regularly. This si one way to get him to give you his best, and bless you. In Genesis 27: 1- 7, Isaac asked his Esau to prepare his favourite delicacy, so that he might aet and bless him before he died. Blessings flow from a satisfied soul. Your husband, father and spiritual leaders are those who bless or curse you, apart from God. Ensure you know how to provoke a heartfelt blessing from them. Be wise like Esther.
