CHASTE VIRGIN
MEMORISE:
'He came unto his own and his own received him not. But as many
as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
Even to them that believe on his name.' (John 1:11-12)
READ:
Esther 2:1-4, 15-20
God is a perfect God. Deuteronomy
32:4 says his works are perfect. He does not permit a vacuum in
his system. Every valley shall be filled (Luke 3:5). Either you
are filled with the Holy Spirit or else some evil spirits will
fill you. No one is empty of both. As a perfect God, he does not
allow superfluity. That is, he will not give the job of one person
to two people. 'He came unto his own and his own received him
not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name' (John
1:11 -12).
This means that someone else occupied
the position we currently occupy. The Jews were beloved of God.
But at a time they, the natural branches, were broken off because
of unbelief and we, the Gentile nations who were part of a wild
olive tree, were grafted in (Rom 11: 15-24). This simply shows
that we should never feel we are too important or that we have
arrived. Whenever somebody in a position is dethroned, another
person is promoted to replace him. May you never be dethroned
where the Lord has assigned you in Jesus' Name. Romans 11:23 tells
us that if the Jews repent of their unbelief, they will be grafted
in again.
In our reading, we see several
Virgins being brought before the king for a beauty contest, yet
only Esther was chosen. Matthew 22:14 says: 'For many are called,
but few are chosen.' King Ahasuerus wanted a queen to replace
Vashti. He carried out his search among Virgins. He wanted the
best: an undefiled, pure lady whom no man had ever slept with.
Jesus is also seeking the best. After you become born again, you
become a virgin. Your defiled past is erased. From that moment,
keep yourself pure from every form of defilement. All the virgin
in this contest were from good homes and morally instructed. For
Esther to emerge the winner, God gave her divine favour because
the race is not necessarily for the fastest. Only Ether was chosen.
The others became history. Would you be a chaste virgin of Christ?
ACTION POINT
