Text: Matthew 5:13-22
Satan
has captured many souls. It is saddening that intellectuals are
his most priced slaves. He used the bait of high sounding philosophies
to ensnare the worldly wise. Hence we should not be surprised
when the devil’s intellectual disciples tell us that there
is nether God nor Satan. They loudly declare that there is no
devil anywhere. They even go ahead to say that there is nobody
called the devil. They tell us that all that exists are good and
evil, and not Satan.
Many
intellectuals do not believe that there is Satan. Of course, they
will however find out when they cry in agony in hell. My Bible
tells me that Satan exists. Revelation 20:7 says, “And when
the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his
prison.” You can only imprison something that has physical
form. Satan is definitely not an imagination of the mind. Satan
likes those who disbelieve his existence. He knows that they cannot
escape him. Satan also tells people that there is no God, and
that there is no judgment. I know that there is God. He is my
Father.
Only
a fool disputes the existence of God. He is on His throne. Satan
also tells people that there is no hell. He wants people to believe
that the idea of hell is to instill fear into people’s hearts.
Satan also wants people to believe that if there exists hell at
all, it is right here on earth. But Jesus mentioned hell in many
places in the Bible. In Matthew 5:22 He said: “But I say
unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause
shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to
his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever
shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”
Here, Jesus is very emphatic.
Again,
He says, in Matthew 11:23, “And thou, Capernaum, which art
exalted unto Heaven, shalt be brought down to hell.” If
there were no hell, Jesus would not have mentioned it. Again,
he said: And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast
it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one
eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.”
(Matthew 18:9). Those who go about saying that there is neither
hell nor Satan are already accursed. We must pray for them until
they are free from the clutches of the spirit of error.
Memory Verse: Hebrews 9:22 - “And almost all things are
by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is
no remission.”
