Topic: No Greater Power
Text: Isaiah 14:3-17

God rules by decrees. He only has to speak and it is done. If He has not spoken, your situation will remain the same. But when He speaks, every thing changes. The Bible says: “Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of no effect.

The counsel of the LORD standeth forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance” (Psalms 33:8-12). God’s counsel stands forever. His words carry the stamp of finality. The counsel of the heathen or the enemy is rendered null and void by the counsel of the Almighty. When God speaks, every other power keeps quiet. God does not give an advice when He speaks; He rolls out decrees. Again, we discover that there is no greater power when we consider the riches of the Almighty. I Chronicles 29:12 gives us a summary of what our God has: “Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.” God is stupendously rich. You have to remember this often and rely whole-heartedly on Him. Riches belong to Him, and since the work of the ministry is His, He will supply money for the work to be done. Riches come from Him; power also comes from Him.

The Bible says: “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God:” (Psalms 62:11). Do not go looking for power from another source. Do not forget that you should not joke with your Salvation. Real power comes from God. Holy and unadulterated power comes from God. Might also come from Him. He is the One who can make you great. He can shoot you into stardom anytime, any day. If you are connected to the One who has the greatest power in the university, you will enjoy an unprecedented lift. God will take you away from the ordinary level to an extra-ordinary level.
