Ps
46 - 48
Topic:
Divine Blessings
Text: Genesis 12:1-3
There
is a great difference between blessings and curses. A blessing
is the opposite of a curse. A blessing is a call to supernatural
forces to assist someone that you love. When you want someone
to prosper, and you do not have the ability to help the fellow,
you can call on the heavenly forces to come and help the person.
You
may then ask: Who can bless? God and those authorized by God can
bless. According to our text, God told Abraham: “I will
bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth
thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.”
From the above Bible passage, it is clear that anyone who blessed
Abraham was already blessed. Anyone who says God should bless
Israel is already blessed. Anyone that says God should bless any
of the seeds of Abraham is already blessed.
Additionally,
your father can bless you. Your husband can bless you. Your Pastor
can bless you. Your brother cannot bless you because he has not
got the authority to do so. Likewise, your sister cannot bless
you because she has not got the authority to do so. If they bless
you, they are just greeting you. However, if any agent of the
devil blesses you, be sure that he is bringing the greatest curse
on you. Above all, you need divine blessings.
Therefore,
let me pronounce Scriptural blessings on you. “The Lord
shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the
rain unto thy land in His season, and to bless all the work of
thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shall
not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the
tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;
if thou shalt hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God,
which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.”
(Deuteronomy 28:12-13). Finally, I counsel you to continuously
position yourself where you will always receive divine blessings.
Memory Verse: Genesis 17:5 - “Neither
shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be
Abraham, for father of many nations have I made thee.” |
