Topic: Divine Covering
Text: James 4:6-10

You need to stay under the covering of the Almighty God if you wish to be free from danger. There are lots of problems and dangers in the world. The only thing that can grant you immunity is to stay under divine covering.

The fact that God is the only sure covering rings out clearly from these two Scriptures: “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me for my soul trusteth in thee; yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.” (Psalms 57:1) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust; his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” (Psalms 91:4).

From the above verse, God is referred to as having wings that can cover those who are His own. Once you stray out of this covering, you will be in trouble. When you are so far away from the sun you will become pray for demons. This is why David said in Psalms 23:6 that goodness and mercy would follow him all the days of his life as long as he dwelt in the house of the Lord forever.

In James 4:8, is a lesson for those who have probably strayed away from the Sun of Righteousness: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.” God wants to be your permanent keeper but He can only do so if you stay near Him. If you stay close to God, your security is assured. The closer you are to God the more your life will be placed under His umbrella. If you place your life outside God’s covering, you must be ready to hold yourself responsible for the consequences.

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 10:8 - “He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge a serpent shall bite him”.
