Topic: Wonderful Promises
Text: Isaiah 60:5-22

We are a peculiar people. God has given us a glorious heritage. “The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea, I have a goodly heritage.” (Psalm 16:6). Isaiah 55:5 tell us a little more about our peculiarity as a people. “Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.” When this kingdom is established there may be people who will be assigned to take charge of Egypt. Egypt will run to them, frightened. The Lord God of Hosts will have glorified the saints, and the people of the world will be forced to obey them. Isaiah 50:5 and 22 tell us more: “Then thou shalt see and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee”. “A little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.” God is saying that if we have a share in this kingdom, those of us who regard ourselves as poor people now will become mighty in those days. The authority God will give to each individual in the Kingdom will be such that will awe us. The Bible says the Kingdom has glorious majesty. Look at Psalm 145:12: “They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.” Majesty is something beautiful. Glory is also beautiful. The combination of glory and majesty is very big and beautiful. The coming is of glorious majesty and I will be part of it. One other thing that makes this Kingdom very beautiful is recorded in Psalm 145:13: “Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and they dominion endureth throughout all generations.” The coming Kingdom be forever. Once you enter, you will be there forever. This is why the Bible says that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. They are forever. This is one of the reasons why I look forward to the Kingdom. It will be wonderful.

Memory Verse: Ps 145:13 - “Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.”
