Text: Romans 14:15-21
The
world cannot fully understand what the Kingdom of God is all about.
The Kingdom of God is a mystery. We have to be taught by the Holy
Ghost before we can understand what it means. You may ask: where
is the Kingdom of God located? What kind of Kingdom is it? The
first thing to know about the Kingdom is that it is not of buying
rice and meant. It is not a kingdom of eating and drinking. It
is a kingdom of joy, peace and holiness. Romans 14:17: “For
the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and
peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Why is it not a kingdom
of eating and drinking? This is because there is no hunger there.
There is no thirst there. This does not mean that we will not
eat there. We shall eat from the fruit of the tree of life there.
We shall eat of the hidden manna there. We will drink from the
river of life there. However, we will not eat because we are hungry
or drink because we are thirsty. We will be eating and drinking
just for pleasure. It is also a very powerful Kingdom. The power
there will be based on God Himself. If this is so, then the Kingdom
will be of tremendous power. Those who will belong to the Kingdom
will taste of the power even while on earth. I Corinthians 4:20:
“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”
One of the reasons why Christianity has been impossible to wipe
out is because it is backed by the power of the Almighty God.
Always all religions that have tried to oppose Christianity have
tried to do so by reasoning. They say, ”How can you say
a virgin conceived?” They say, “How can you say God
has a son? Who is His wife?” Christians have an answer that
nobody else has. We say that if you call the Name of Jesus miracles
will happen and this is true. No one has ever said if you call
the name of the other gods, or religious leaders miracles will
happen. This is why no other religion apart from Christianity
holds crusades. What are they going to present there? They are
always criticizing the good works that God is doing through His
Son. When the Kingdom is fully here, it will be power all the
way. It will be an extremely powerful Kingdom. There will be priest
and King in the Kingdom. Everybody in the Kingdom will be a king
and, at the same time, a priest. How wonderful will it be to enter
a city where everyone is a king and a priest!
Memory Verse: I Corinthians 4:20 - “For the kingdom of God
is not in word, but in power”.
