An Ambassador
Text: II Corinthians 5:17-20
You
are Christ’s ambassador. As an envoy or representative of
the Most High God you are empowered to uphold the sovereignty
of the Holy Nation. Being a spiritual ambassador gives you certain
privilege and rights. With the name of Jesus, you have certain
immunities. To name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous
runs into it and is saved. To win any battle in life, the weapon
you need is Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:10, “That at the
name of Jesus every knee should bow, of thing in heaven and things
in earth, and things under the earth.” The knees to bow
include those of disease, barrenness, death and Goliath. The statement
of David also meant that he was the representative of the Lord.
Since God could not come down to fight, he sent David as his representative.
In 2 Corinthians 5:20, the Bible says we are Christ’s Ambassadors.
An Ambassador is a representative of the one who sent him. David
faced Goliath as Christ’s Ambassador. Every Divine champion
knows that he is an Ambassador of Christ. This means, according
to 2 Corinthians 5:20, once you have seen a Divine champion, you
have seen Christ. It means that when a Divine champion acts, it
is Christ acting. When a Divine champion speaks, it is Christ
speaking. This is why Paul called us the epistle of Christ. When
people look at us, they want to see Christ in us. A Divine champion
will always make sure that the Name of Jesus Christ is not tarnished.
Proverbs 22:1 says: “A good name is rather to be chosen
than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.”
A Divine champion knows that the enemy he must fight and defeat
is himself. This is a very strong and bloody battle, which you
must win. The Bible says, in Hebrews 12:4, “Ye have not
yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.” The enemy
within is more dangerous than Goliath. David was knocked down
when he saw a woman having ser bath. May be your enemy within
is immorality. It may be gluttony or talking too much, or that
you sleep too much. Whatever the enemy within may be, you will
not become a Divine champion until you have defeated it. Fortunately,
you can come against every enemy in the name of Jesus Christ.
All you need to do is to locate the enemy and fight him ruthlessly.
Memory Verse: Proverbs 22:1 - “A good name is rather to
be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver
and gold”.
