Chron 26 - 29
Topic:
The Target
Text: Acts 12:1-23
The
devil usually attacks what is good. He does not waste his time
on trivialities. If there is any good thing in your life, the
enemy will try to attack it. Today, I want us to take a look at
the spiritual significance of the head. The enemy knows the importance
of the head. You can have a replacement of the parts of the body
through physical surgery or miracles, but when the head is cur
off, the story is ended. If there is anything the devil is aiming
at, it is the head. This is why wives must pray for their husbands,
for the husband is the head of the wife.
Besides,
the head has peculiar features that have spiritual significance.
The eyes are for vision. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there
is no vision, people perish.” When the enemies got Samson,
it was his eyes they first took. Do not let the devil take your
eyes off Jesus. When Peter took his eyes away from Jesus Christ,
he began to sink. The ears are important too. The devil will always
want to block your ears because he knows what is in Romans 10:17:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word
of God.” The tongue is for speech and the devil would try
hard to hinder you from calling the name of Jesus. The devil knows
that, according to Romans 10:9, if you confess the Lord Jesus
Christ, you shall be saved. The devil knows that, at the name
of Jesus, every knee must bow. He knows that Jesus said we would
get whatever we ask in His name.
The
nose is another part of the head. In Genesis 2:7, after the Lord
formed man from the dust of the earth, He breathed into man’s
nostrils and man became a living soul. Also, in John 20:21-22,
when the disciples were gathered in a room and the door was locked,
Jesus came in and breathed into them to receive the Holy Ghost.
It is clear, therefore, that the head is very important. I Cor.11:3
says, “But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man; and the head
of Christ is God.” Your head is the symbol of your God.
The enemy will try as much as possible to separate you from Jesus
Christ. Jesus has however promised never to leave or forsake you.
The devil may try but he will never succeed in taking your head
away. Jesus is your head. He will ever remain with you.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:23 -
“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ
is the head of the church; and he is the Saviour of the body.” |
