Topic: Just Obey
Text: Revelations 19:11-16

Obedience is one of the most important prerequisites for qualification for the heavenly Kingdom. God’s words are eternal decrees, which must be obeyed. The universal king has decreed: you have no choice but to obey. Who is the universal King?

Revelation 19”12-14 gives us the answer: “His eyes were a flame of fire, and on his head ere many crowns; and he had a name written that no man knew but he himself. And he was clothed with vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called, The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen white and clean.” Jesus is the King that cannot be confronted. If any problem comes your way as a child of God, those who fight against you are fighting against God. But if you join God’s enemies and begin to fight against Him, you might put God in an embarrassing situation. If you praise God He will be the One to ask you what you want Him to do for you. Here, the Lord Jesus Christ told the disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Ghost has come upon them. This is a beautiful promise indeed and it has been fulfilled in the lives of many people. Many of us have received power when the Holy Ghost came upon us. Attached to this promise is a commandment that we should be witnesses unto Him. Who is a witness?

A witness is someone who speaks in your favour when you stand accused before a judge. We are witnesses of Jesus Christ. If he is called a liar and a pretender, can you defend Him? Jesus Christ knew that there would be people who would constantly accuse Him. There are those who call Jesus Christ a liar. Some say He was a pretender. Others say that He cannot heal today and that He never really healed in those days.

Witnessing involves telling who Jesus is. It is different from preaching. It is telling other people what you know about Jesus Christ. Tell others what you know about Jesus Christ. If they say He is dead, say He is alive. If they say He is not the Son of God, tell them that, without doubt, He is the Son of God. If they say He is a liar, tell them that His name is the Truth. If they say He is a magician, tell them that He is not a magician but the Almighty God Himself. This is what we call witnessing. Do this and He will do the rest. Just obey and He will prove Himself in your life. Speak the word of God; demonstrate His power to save to the uttermost.

Memory Verse: Psalm 117:1 - “o praise the LORD, all ye nations; praise him, all ye people.”
