Ps 7 - 9
Topic:
Call to Prayer
Text: Ezekiel 16:44-52
Praise
is comely. It is the duty of the upright. I give thanks to God
for what He has been doing through our monthly Holy Ghost nights.
This God-ordained programme has changed the spiritual climate
of the Nigerian nation. Decades ago, only young people dared to
come into the open to praise and worship God. Then, if anyone
has stated that a time would come when kings, governors, ministers,
university professors, celebrities and those who have attained
great height in their professions would all come into the open
to worship God and declare their allegiance to Him, such a person
would have been branded a fake seer.
Today,
the worship of the true God has become the in-thing. I am amazed
to discover also that the Holy Ghost festival has not only attracted
the poor masses - it has also become an assemblage of “who
is who” in the nation. This shows that the kings and the
governors of the earth shall also share in the praise and the
worship of God. Thank God, wise men still seek Him. Going through
our devotional Scripture for today, we discover that among the
people to praise Him are kings of the earth and the common people.
If
you are a king, you are included. If you are a prince or judge,
you are included. All young men and maidens are included. Old
men, women and children are included. Nobody is left out; all
of us have been commanded to praise Him. When things are not all
right, make your praise a sacrifice. Psalm 107:21-22: “Oh
that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful
works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices
of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.”
When you sacrifice something, it means it is not easy doing it.
When things seem to be going wrong, all you need to do is ask
yourself whether you love God. If the answer is positive, then
believe that something good will come out of whatever is happening
to you. Romans 8:28 says: “And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose.”
Praise
God and you will experience a miracle. James 1:12 says: “Blessed
is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he
shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised
to him that love Him.” When things are very hard, go on
enduring and praising God. After the trial, if you do not deny
God, you will be blessed. You will receive the crown of life,
which God has promised to those that love Him. Go on praising
God and He will daze you with miracles.
Memory Verse: Psalms 117:1 - “O
Praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.”
