Topic:
The Lord’s Handle
Text: Ants 2:36-41
The
axe is made of two important components: the axe-head and the
handle. None is complete without the other. A wooden handle, no
matter how well crafted, is useless without the axe-head. The
axe-head also needs a wooden handle.
The
Almighty God wants people like you and me who will become handle
for His axe-head. In Isaiah 6:8, the Bible says; “Also I
heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who
will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” The All-Sufficient
God needs people, even though He can do all things. It is because
the axe-head needs a handle that God gives us an invitation in
Matthew 11:28-29; “Come unto me, all ye that labour and
are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls.” God wants us to be His handle
so that He can put His axe-head on our hands.
You
shall receive power after you have become a handle for the axe-head.
You shall receive power after you have become a Holy Ghost carrier
(Acts 1:8). You are never free until Jesus Christ controls all
your actions. When a piece of wood becomes the handle of an axe-head
the handle will rest whenever the axe-head rests. There will be
no more wasted efforts when you get hooked up to the Holy Spirit;
no more wasted labours because Jesus Christ will be guiding you
just as the axe-head guides the actions of the handle.
When
you are linked with the wisdom of God, you will do little and
achieve much. You will have all-round prosperity. The greatest
thing that can happen to you is to become a carrier of God’s
axe. Then your life will have a new meaning.
Memory Verse: Acts 1:8 - “But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and
unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
