Topic:A Winner
Text: Psalms 91:3-10

What do you consider when you want to enter into a business partnership? When going into partnership with someone you will, of course, wish to know what kind of person the prospective partner is. This kind of knowledge should help you to decide whether or not the partnership is worth going into.

The Bible says that those who know their God shall do exploits (Daniel 11:32). To develop confidence in God, we would want to know who God is. We would want to know what He has done and what He can still do. God introduced Himself to Abraham in Genesis 17:1 “I am the Almighty God…” He is the Almighty. What exactly do we mean by Almighty? If you break the word into two, you will have “All” and “Mighty”. This means the One who has all might.

If you relate to God as the One who has all power, He will show you His attributes and power. If you relate to Him as the One who n do all things, He will show you that He, surely, can do all things. When you confess He is your Healer, He will want to find out whether you really mean it or not. Your healing may not come immediately after you have prayed. He may deliberately want to know whether you are trusting or not. For example, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said the Lord they were serving was able to deliver them, and that he would deliver them. He allowed them to be thrown into the midst of the fiery furnace before He delivered them. He could have prevented them from getting into the fire. He could have sent a bolt of thunder to wipe out the whole army of Nebuchadenezer. However, He wanted to be sure that they really meant what they said. God would always test you. He is the Most High God.

The Bible says: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalms 91:1). The moment you have the Most High of your side, you are secure. In Ecclesiastes 5:8, the Bible describes God as someone higher then the highest. “If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.”

Memory Verse: Job 11:7 - “Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out Almighty unto perfection.”
