Topic:
Facing the Enemy
Text: Genesis 3:4-15
.
Every believer who wants to experience
victory in spiritual warfare must learn the ropes and understand
what it takes to defeat the devil on all fronts. For some time
now we have been examining the importance of donning and utilizing
the whole Armour of God. Basically, there are two types of attacks:
the direct attack and the indirect attack. The Armour of God is
principally against the indirect attack of Satan. You can always
dodge or run from direct attack. However, no one is as informed
as the one laying ambush. The one laying ambush for you would
have studied your behaviour and your movements. Some people know
the types of food you like. They know the food you can never resist.
If they bring it to you in the dream, you would have finished
it before even thinking. Standing against the wiles of the devil
means that we are already in a conflict with the devil. You may
not know it, but the enemy is already fighting against you. If
the devil is fighting against you, congratulations. If the devil
is not fighting against you, then something is wrong. I hate the
devil, and he hates me. I like it that way. I do not want him
to like me. The battle line is already drawn. We are commanded
to fight and not to evade the conflict. Standing against the viles
of the devil is the opposite of running from him. In I Timothy
6:12, the Bible says: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay
hold on eternal life, where unto thou are also called, and hast
professed a good profession before many witnesses”> We
are to fight and not to run from the conflict. This you must get
clear. Ask God to give you the grace to put on the whole Armour
of God.
Memory Verse: II Corinthians 10:4
“For the weapons of our warfare are not canal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” |
