Topic:
Divine Security
Text: Psalm 46:1-11
Individuals and nations all over
the world spend a huge amount of money to protect lives and properties.
The defense budgets of nations, developing and under-developed
alike have continued to rise astronomically. If these enormous
efforts are made in the physical realm we must realize that God
has made provision for our protection and security. “God
is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble; therefore,
will we not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the
mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;” Our text
today assures us of divine protection. God is your shield. Therefore
you must not fear. In Isaiah 43:2, the Almighty God says, “When
thou passeth through the waters I will be with thee; and through
the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through
the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle
upon thee.” In Isaiah 46:4, God said, “And even to
your old age I am He; and even to your hair will I carry you:
I have made, and I will bear: even I will carry and will deliver
you.” This is the promise of God who can never lie. In Hebrew
13:5, He says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said,
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” If God says
He will never leave you, it means it means He is by your side
always. Even till old age, He will be by your side. David said
his help comes from the Lord who made Heaven and earth. If you
say your help comes from the Lord, we need to know which Lord
you are talking about because there are various types of Lords.
Anybody who calls himself God and does not know when the foundation
of the earth was laid is not my God. Anyone who calls himself
God and cannot say to the storm “Be still,” is not
my God. David said the Lord he is talking about is the One who
made Heaven and earth. There was nothing made that was not made
by Him. Because He made all things that is why I know that my
security is guaranteed. The Bible says, “No weapon that
is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall
rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the
heritage of the servant of the LORD, and their righteousness is
of me, said the LORD.” He said no weapon fashioned against
us shall prosper because He has already said that He is the One
who made the waste to destroy.
Memory Verse: Psalm 47:4 - “He
shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom
he loved. Selah.”
