God’s Gift
Text: I Cor. 12:1-10
There
are gifts and there are gifts. However, the greatest of all gifts
comes from God. Material gifts lose their value or worth with
time. Let me ask you: where are those gifts you received twenty
year ago? Perhaps they are no-where to be found. May be most of
them now liter the junkyard? That is the ephemeral nature of physical
or materials gifts. Today, I shall share the word of God with
you on what I call ‘eternal gifts’. God loved us and
He gave us a Gift. This gift is the gift of life. In fact, Jesus
Christ also said in John 10:10 that He came that we might have
life and have it more abundantly. What then is life? It is easy
to define life as the opposite of death. Death is permanent separation
from things, people and places. Jesus Christ was given to us so
that we would not die, physically. He said in John 11:25. “I
am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though
he were dead, yet shall he live.” Jesus Christ was given
to us so that we would not die financially. Jesus will raise you
up. He because poor so that we might become rich. Ps.13:1 says;
because He is our Shepherd, we shall not want. He was also given
to us so that we might not die mentally. A man who is dead mentally
is crazy. The Bible tells us in 2 Tim. 1:7 that the Almighty God
has given us sound mind. In John 14:27, Jesus Christ says He has
given us peace. In John 15:11 He says we must ask till our joy
is full. He was given to us so that we would not be dead spiritually.
Spiritual death means separation from God. When we sinned, we
were separated from God. Adam used to have fellowship with God
before sin came and they became separated. Jesus Christ came that
we might be re-united with God and never again be separated from
Him.

Verse: II Tim. 1:7 - ”For God hath not given us the spirit
of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.
