Elegant Lilies
Text: Isaiah 1:15-20
There
is nothing to dread in prosperity. Divine wealth does not hurt.
There is no sorrow or trouble attached to it. No matter what is
your level of prosperity at this time, you can go higher. If you
remain poor you will have yourself to blame James 1:2 tells us:
“Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and
cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask
not.”
This
is why many are poor, Instead of asking for your own wealth, instead
of
asking God to give you your own benefits, you look at those riding
big cars and feel they are not going to Heaven. Who are you to
determine that? Rather than ask to be dressed like the lilies
of the field, that are there today and thrown into the oven tomorrow,
some will prefer to wear rags. Many people do not ask because
they are not willing.
In
Isaiah 1:19-20, the Bible says: “If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel,
ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD
hath spoken it.” Many thin the land referred to is in Heaven.
There is no land over there. The land is here on earth.
Again let us examine Numbers 20:5: “And wherefore have ye
made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us unto this evil place?
It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates;
neither is there any water to drink.” God gave the children
of Israel an opportunity to have a land flowing with milk and
honey. He asked them to go and take it. They said, “No,
we are not going” God then said, “Well, if you do
not want a land flowing with milk and honey, then you must be
satisfied with a barren land.” So God have them a land where
they neither farmed nor found water to drink. In summary, if you
refuse wealth, do not blame God if you are poor.
The
choice is yours. God is good. His friends are rich. He has good
thoughts towards you. He wants you to prosper. He said it clearly
in His Words that poverty is a curse it is destruction. He wants
you to choose one of the two. If you are willing and obedient,
you will make it. You will arrive and eat the good of the land.
If you refuse, then do not complain.
Memory Verse: Isaiah 1:19-20 - “If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel,
ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD
hath spoken it.”
