Topic:
Total Security
Text: Psalms 46:1-11
One
of the benefits of Salvation is total security. The people of
the world live in fear everyday. There is neither peace nor security
in the world. Only those kept by the power of God are free from
the powers that daily plunder the lives and property of many.
Only God can give you all-round security. The second verse of
our text, today, leaps at me: “Therefore will not we fear,
though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried
into the midst of the sea.” God is near, all the time. Many
times, we think that He is far away, particularly when we pray
and do not get answers. God is as close to us as our shadows.
He will never leave us nor forsake us. A believer may be down
but he is not out.
Paul
said in II Corinthians 4:8-9: “We are troubled on every
side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”
As long as your voice is still intact (with which you can cry
to Jesus Christ), the enemy has not won the battle. Whenever you
can still cry to God, victory is assured. When there is life,
there is hope. In II Timothy 2:8-9, Paul said: “Remember
that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead
according to my gospel. Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evildoer,
even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.” The
word of God is not bound.
The
Bible says “He sent His word and healed them and delivered
them from their destructions” (Psalms 107:20). As long as
the word of God keeps coming to you, your healing and deliverance
are assured. Satan may have bound you.
The
enemy may think you have been bound, but the power in the word
of God that remains unbound shall set you free. Your finances
shall be set free. Your promotion shall be set free. Your children
shall be set free. As long as the word of God is not bound, there
is hope. The word of God abides forever.
Memory Verse: Psalms 107:20 - “He sent his word, and healed
them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
